Meet #3: Kings Charter Tidal Waves @ Rockville Dolphin Club Information

The Kings Charter Tidal Waves will face Rockville Dolphin Club on Tuesday, June 17th. The meet will start at 6:00pm and families can enter the pool deck no earlier than 4:45pm. The make-up date is Wednesday, June 18th.

Location: 16238 Pouncey Tract Rd. Rockville, VA 23146.

Attendance: Please remember to declare for the meet by indicating if your swimmer will attend. You can indicate your attendance by going to the "Signup Calendar" under the Calendar tab on our website, choosing the “RSVP” button next to the associated meet, then clicking "attending" or "not attending" for your swimmer. This can be done in the app by clicking into the meet, clicking the “Meet Signup” button, “Edit” your swim meet status, then choosing your attendance status. You will need to click the Save button for each swimmer after you select attending or not attending.

Parking:There is plenty of parking for families in the lot and near the pool and back toward the tennis courts. There will be overflow parking in the field in front of the Center but we ask that families pay close attention to the roped off areas in this field and only park in the designated areas. Cars parked in the roped off area will be asked to move.

Seating: Seating for the away team is located behind the blocks on the grass and outside of the pool fence on the basketball court. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. It is very sunny in this area at the start of the meet. Feel free to bring handheld umbrellas or set up on the basketball court as this will mostly be shaded from the start. Enter the pool through the large double gates. To the right is the grassy area, and there is a gate to get out of the pool deck and onto the basketball court. You can’t easily access the basketball court unless you first enter the pool deck. If you decide to sit on the basketball court instead of the grass, it may be difficult to hear what event is being called. The diving well and baby pool are off limits during the meet.

Check‐In: Check in will begin at 4:45 and will take place right inside the large, gated entrance to the pool at the white picnic tables.

Warm-ups: Away team will warm up from 5:25-5:50. Rockville Dolphin Club warm-ups will be from 5:00-5:25.

Relays: Relay assignments will be posted at the meet each week. Swimmers will be able to check these postings to see if they have been assigned to a relay team at the beginning of the meet. As a reminder, 8 & Under relays are the first event and all other relays are at the end of the meet. 9 and up swimmers should check with Coach Megan before you leave the meet to double check that they are not needed for relays.Swim meet event order can be found here.

Clerk of the Course: The Clerk of Course is located behind the diving well. Your swimmers must either walk around the pool and enter the clerk of course on the side opposite the blocks (closest to the building and near the baby pool) or at the gate by the pump house next to the basketball court. Please do not go under the roping to the blocks area to get to the clerk of course. The pool will be roped off for coaches and officials. Please DO NOT cross the roping. There is an electronic number counter showing the event being called at the top of a tall white pole on the right side of the diving well.

Restrooms: Restrooms are located to the left as you enter the pool.

Concessions: A Rockville parent and chef, Rob Cherry of Piccolo Catering, will be preparing food for purchase. Meals are estimated to range from $10-15. We will have ices and a variety of snacks and candy available for purchase and most items are priced around $1.00. We can accept cash, card, and Apple Pay.

Weather: In the event of inclement weather we may have to exit the pool deck until conditions improve. Lifeguards are trained on and responsible for making a determination when the pool and the pool deck must be closed, prioritizing the safety of all present. If the deck is closed, please support the life guards and help clear the facility promptly. If we have to clear the deck due to the weather, you may wait in your cars. Please ensure you have signed up for Remind to get weather updates. Instructions can be found on our website under the Documents Tab.
